W Brisbane
300 George Street complex has been a collaboration between DBI, Zenx Architects and Cox Rayner. DBI was responsible for the design and coordination of the Podium elements and full documentation of the W Brisbane Hotel. The DBI Interiors team were responsible for the Retail Precinct, Executive Offices and BOH to Hotel.
Within the parameters of the Brisbane City Council planning scheme, the authors have sought to create an integrated mixed use development incorporating Retail, Five Star Hotel, an A-Grade Office Tower and a high quality Residential Tower. The buildings are united by a coherent and consistent material palette and by an aspiration to deliver a high quality, engaging pedestrian environment for the broader community. The nature and the scale of the project mean that it will be a significant intervention into the existing built fabric. 300 George Street seeks to engage the river visually, architecturally and poetically. It seeks to create a new transparent, welcoming and legible urban intervention incorporating a large scale poetic gesture to the Riverside Expressway and the Brisbane River.
